    The Sandgate Farmers and Makers Market dates for 2019 have been set!

    As ever, markets will be on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month, from 10am-12.30pm at the Chichester Hall at 70 Sandgate High Street, Sandgate CT20 3BX.

    However for 2019 there will be NO market on Saturday 5th January to allow customers and stallholders time to recover from the Christmas festivities!

    There is a Folkestone and Hythe District Council cabinet meeting being held on 12th December at 5pm where the Princes Parade business case will be discussed. The council have given notice that they intend to exclude the public for at least part of the meeting: the Save Princes Parade committee will be challenging that decision on your behalf.

    On Saturday 10th November in Mons, Belgium, the UK heritage Charity the Shorncliffe Trust will be starting a wholly unique commemorative journey, that sees two specially commissioned Lanterns bring the "Spirit" of all those Canadians and British soldiers back home to the UK and Canada.

    The "flame" from Mons, will be carried by representatives of the Trust to the St Symphorien Military Cemetery, where lanterns will be placed on the graves of the "First & Last" British and Canadian Soldiers who lay side by side.

    Arron Banks, it seems, is upset.

    Received this morning, an unaddressed (but presumably paid for) delivery - a letter that seems to be intended to go to every door in Folkestone and Hythe.

    In it, Mr Banks - a businessman who made substantial contributions to the Leave campaign and was instrumental in the campaign itself - rails against Folkestone and Hythe MP Damian Collins, as "a disgrace" who is using his position to "launch a pathetic witch-hunt against Brexit".
