Sandgate: A light at the end...

A lamp column at the "high, dark" end of Undercliff, Sandgate has been repaired following a report by County Councillor Tim Prater. Also, after years of reports and chasing by the Sandgate Lib Dem team, the central reservation light on the traffic Island by The Ship pub, Sandgate High Street has been timetabled for connection by Kent Highways in December.

Tim Prater commented:

"We've been reporting the central bollard light on Sandgate High Street for an age, and eventually Kent Highways identified the reason it wasn't working is that there is no power cable running to it!

"A cable is now timetabled to be installed in December by running a connection from a nearby streetlight, but the question remains: how as a light installed in the first place with no power running to it? Did Kent, and its local taxpayers end up paying for a job that was, at best, half done?"
