Cheriton Streetlight action round-up

On a regular check of streetlights in Cheriton, Folkestone, Councillor Tim Prater has found and reported over 30 broken street lights and lit road bollards. Amongst others, there were lights out of action in Military Road, Church Road, Royal Military Avenue, Naseby Road, Fairfax Close, Cheriton High Street, Shaftesbury Avenue, Roman Way and Horn Street.

All the broken streetlights and bollards have now been reported to Kent Highways for repair, and Tim hopes Kent Highways will take action soon. Tim commented:

"There do seem to be a LOT of street lights not working at the moment. Possibly the worst stretch is a block 10 lights all not working on Military Road between the North Road junction and St Marks Close: it's really dark there.

"I hope Kent will get on and get them fixed and not try passing the buck to others like the energy company as has happened before. Local people aren't interested in excuses - they simply want their lights on and working!"
